Sit and Stitch Intarsia Learn this versatile knitting pattern perfect for baby blankets, afghans, scarves....so many beautiful uses! We are hoping to put this technique to work on your stash and scraps. Afterall, leftovers sometimes make the best meals! Plan on working with worsted weight yarn, and, swappping is encouraged! If, by chance, you haven't accumulated a healthy stash yet, we have plenty of pretties to help fill in the gaps. Thursdays, September 16, 23, and 30th Worsted weight house socks make a great intro to the basic formula for tootsie toppers. And, they make wonderful Christmas gifts! Learn the abc's of socks and see for yourself what this craze is all about. HINT: Mission Falls 1824 superwash wool makes a MOST EXCELLENT house sock, and it is very much on sale right now. It wouldn't hurt to pick up 3 skeins of your favorite color now to use in this class!!!!!!!!! Teacher: Abby
Join us for friendship and stitching (and snacks sometimes, because we're grown-ups and we can!) 6:30 til 8:30pm every Tuesday and Wednesday evening at the shop. This is a great time to relax and knit, needlepoint, or cross stitch. If you have suggestions for a different location to gather at every now and then, please let us know!

This class is designed to give students a taste of the colorwork method called Intarsia, which is used to make patterns that require blocks of different colored yarn. The first class will go over basic colorwork information and color theory; during this class, students will pick out supplies for the subsequent classes with the help of the instructor as well as one another. The next two classes will be used to learn and practice this new technique while knitting a simple pattern from a chart. Students will learn how to read a chart, create blocks of color in knitting, cover up holes, transition between colors, manage several colors at once, and so much more. The result will be a multicolored panel, in colors of your choice, that can be made into a tote insert, a bag, or a pillow top upon completion.

It's Crochet Time!!!! Lynda will teach the basics of this lovely needle art in a project that starts as a scarf, but can be expanded to a blanket. Learn Chain, Single Crochet, Double Crochet, and Shell stitch in this two-session class. So many lovely projects await today's crocheter....it's not just for afghans!
